AIUTUC stages protest against Railways privatisation move

Mysore/Mysuru: Accusing the Union Government of making moves for privatisation of Indian Railways, members of the District Unit of AIUTUC (All India United Trade Union Centre) staged a demonstration in front of the City Railway Station here yesterday urging the  Government to drop any privatisation moves.

They urged the Government to stop privatisation of Indian Railways in any form, introduction of 151 private trains on 109 routes, selling out or closure of Railway land, Colonies, Stations, Hospitals, Workshops and other Railway Establishments and Corporatisation of seven  Railway Production Units, among others.

Opposing any increase in freight and passenger fares, they also demanded filling up of all Railway vacancies, introduction of a defined pension scheme instead of NPS and scrapping of the recommendations of Vivek Dev Roy Committee.
