Vidu. Anitha was awestruck with the art of Bharatanatyam at a very young age. Daughter of late C.R. Nagaraj and D.S. Kausalya, Anitha started her training in this classical art from Guru Ambale Rajeshwari in Madikeri.

The journey continued with Dr. Kripa Phadke of Nrityagiri, Mysuru, from 1994 and learnt the nuances, technicalities of dance. This fetched Anitha to achieve the goal of presenting her maiden solo performance — Arangetram — in 2000.

Having completed Vidwat Exams in higher grades, she opted dance as her profession. Later took specialised training in Rasa – Bhavabhinaya by Veteran Guru Karnataka Kalatilaka Muralidhara Rao in Pandanallor Bani. Emerging as a solo performer, she has given dance recital across the country.

She founded Nritya Vidya Peeta in the year 2003 where Bharatanatyam classes are conducted regularly for dance aspirants. Today’s it’s been 20 years and more than 500 students have taken tutelage from Guru Vidu, Anitha. Many have become good performers, teachers and orators too. Regular theory classes, music and special training in natuvanga are a part of curriculum at her institute. [Mob: 94483-32200]
