Mysuru, Oct.12 (SP&DM)- District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa and veteran litterateur Dr. C.P. Krishnakumar (CPK) jointly launched the logo of 83rd Akhila Bharatha Kannada Sahitya Sammelana and inaugurated the Sammelana office at District Kannada Sahitya Parishat Office at the North Gate of the Palace  here this morning.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr.  Mahadevappa said that the Kannada Sahitya Sammelana has a 102-year- old history and is one of the visionary contributions of Nalwadi Krisharaja Wadiyar.

Pointing out that the selection of veteran writer Prof. Chandrashekar Patil (Champa) to chair the Sammelana is a good decision considering his social movement, Dr. Mahadevappa said that Champa raises voice whenever the social system went awry. Referring to some writers and organisations expressing objection to the hasty decision to hold the 3-day event, the Minister said differences of opinion is good as it helps in organising the event much better.

Dr.CPK, in his address, said that in the absence of differences, any event could become a prototype. Although there may be differences, it should not give rise to collusion, he said and called upon everyone to shun their differences and work for the success of the meet.
