Alert KSRTC security guard foils theft bid at Divisional Office

One arrested; case registered against three persons

Mysore/Mysuru: KSRTC security guard, who caught a person attempting to steal iron materials weighing about 140 kg along with two others from KSRTC Divisional Office in Bannimantap, have handed him over to the Police.

The arrested is identified as Afsan, a resident of Karakushala Nagar in city. Two more persons, who had accompanied Afsan, fled from the spot and the Police are making efforts to nab them.

On Aug. 14, KSRTC Security guard 33-year-old C. Janardhan, while on duty at about 6.35 pm, received information from the residents that a few people were committing theft behind the Divisional Office. He then rushed to the spot and saw three persons making away with 40 kg iron disks, 80 kg iron gate and 20 kg iron spare parts behind the office compound and caught hold of Afsan, while two others managed to flee. Janardhan handed over the accused to N.R. Police, who arrested him and registered a case against the three besides launching a hunt to nab two others.
