Square/ rectangular rooms, with flat ceilings and sufficient natural light and ventilation, draw in good energy and freshness

Adapting some basic rules of Vastu and Feng Shui, a proper design can be made to enhance the good luck and improve the energy flow. In other words, it is a design genre all on its own. But this design element is done not only for the visual aesthetics that it can impart to your home but to also activate many benefits, especially the energy it can draw into your home.

Traditional Chinese philosophy holds that there are five essential elements: Fire, Metal, Earth, Wood and Water. Each element has a corresponding colour or hue; Example: Red is passion, blue is relaxation, brown is grounding etc. Hence while adapting colours one needs to exercise caution.

Feng Shui suggests use of soothing, light and tranquil shades for the bedroom along with hints of natural greenery to uplift the space. Most importantly, it is good to combine a maximum of  3 colours in any specific room.

Vastu and Feng Shui designing is not a one-size-fits-all science. Hence, each property requires a closer look and the right method and technique needs to be adapted which would suit the particular situation more aptly.

To enhance the positivity and feel of your space:

• Place pleasing artefacts and décor-like statues, collection of crystals, gemstones, coloured candles and water feature in the living areas.

• Avoid barriers in front of the door such as light partitions or barricades.

Implementing the principles of these time-proven methods in your building can set the stage for the good things in life. Hence, following some of the points listed below would help. To ensure that a space is filled with good energy  and is vibrant, the living space has to be balanced and it must have the right décor.
