All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament-2025: Diya Bheemaiah wins gold, bronze

Mysore/Mysuru: Kodagu’s Diya Bheemaiah, taking part in the recently held Yonex Sunrise Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Memorial All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament-2025 held at Babu Banarasi Das U.P. Badminton Academy in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, won gold in mixed doubles and bronze in the women’s doubles.

In the mixed doubles finals, Diya, partnering with Bjorn Jaison (Kerala), fought back strongly, after dropping first set 17-21, to seal the victory 17-21, 22-20, 21-14. In the women’s doubles, Diya, partnering with Baruni Parshwal of Haryana, won the bronze medal.

A II PUC student at Vidyashram College in Mysuru, Diya trains under coach Arun Pemmaiah at Sports Park, Mysuru. Her father, Boppanda B. Bheemaiah, is also a badminton coach, while her mother, K.K. Kusuma                   (Kambiranda), a former international athlete, now works as a fitness coach.
