Alleged assault and abusing woman: Case registered against Congress leader T.S. Ravishankar and four others

Mysuru: A woman, alleging abuse and assault on her, has lodged a complaint against former City Congress President T.S. Ravishankar and four others at K.R. Police Station on Mar. 4.

While the woman complainant has been identified as Nirmala Ramesh, President of Mooguru Karnataka Brahmin Association, the other persons against whom she has lodged a complaint have been identified as K. Manjunath Prasad, M.R. Chandrashekar, Jagadish and Shankar.

In her complaint, Nirmala has stated that on Mar. 4, she was chairing an informal meeting of the association with the Directors, when T.S. Ravishankar along with K. Manjunath Prasad, M.R. Chandrashekar, Jagadish and Shankar barged into the meeting hall at about 6.30 pm.

Ravishankar claiming that he was the President of the association, verbally abused her for conducting the meeting besides assaulting her.

K.R. Police have registered a case under IPC Section 143, 323, 504 read with 149 (Complaint No. 0033/2018) and ASI D.B. Suresh is investigating.
