Alleged creation of fake land records: Former Mandya Tahsildar clarifies

Mandya: Reacting to reports on her being named in the Police complaint on creation of fake records for land alienation when she was Mandya Tahsildar, former Mandya Tahsildar Priyadarshini, who is currently serving as a Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Zonal Assistant Commissioner, has maintained that she had nothing to do with the creation of fake records.

Speaking to SOM yesterday, Priyadarshini said she served as Mandya Tahsildar in 2014-15. The ‘Anyakranta’ for 1 acre and 16 guntas of land coming under Survey No. 825 of Guttalu village of Kottatti hobli in Mandya taluk was done in the name of Channaiah way back in 1986-87. But one Mallesh, son of Kariyappa created fake records in 1986-87 itself to claim ownership of this land. Also, no ‘Anyakranta’ was done during her stint as Mandya Tahsildar, she said and alleged that certain elements had hatched a conspiracy to implicate her in the case.

Claiming that the complaint lodged by current Tahsildar Maruti Prasanna with the Mandya West Police Station mentioned only the name of Mallesh, Priyadarshini dismissed reports on her name being mentioned in the FIR.

Meanwhile, Mandya West PSI Niranjan confirming that Tahsildar Maruti Prasanna had lodged a complaint in connection with creation of fake records, said that the Tahsildar had mentioned only the name of Mallesh while the name of any official has not been mentioned.

He has written to the Tahsildar seeking all records pertaining to the case, based on which an investigation will be held. After the completion of investigation, all the guilty will be known and their names will find mention in the charge-sheet that will be submitted to the Court, he said and added that the names of the guilty will be known only after completion of probe.

SOM’s calls to Tahsildar Maruthi Prasanna to seek his account of the case, went unanswered.
