Mysuru: A youth, who had allegedly raped a 33-year-old mentally retarded woman and attempted to kill her, has been caught by the public, who thrashed him and handed over to the Police.

The accused has been identified as 35-year-old Salman Ulla Khan. It is alleged that on Sunday, the youth had reportedly raped the woman and was attempting to kill her.

Meanwhile, the victim’s sister, who came back home, began to scream, which attracted the neighbours and the public, who caught the accused, thrashed him and handed him over to Udayagiri Police.
