Anantharaja Gowda

Anantharaja Gowda (82), a writer, researcher and a freedom fighter, passed away in the town yesterday. A native of Puttur taluk in Dakshina Kannada, he was residing at Kotekaadu village in K. Nidugane Gram Panchayat limits in Madikeri.

He leaves behind his wife, one son and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were held at Makkandur village today.

He had authored many books including the history of Kedambadi Ramaiah Gowda among others. He had also strived hard for the installation of the bronze statue of Kedambadi Ramaiah Gowda. He was also the recipient of Arebhashe Shaitya Academy Award among others.
