Anantharamu (79), senior journalist, social worker and a resident of Halebeedu hobli in Belur taluk, Hassan district, passed away yesterday at the District Hospital following brief illness. He leaves behind his family members and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were performed at Halebeedu last evening, according to sources.
