Anjuman fetes KPSC and UoM Syndicate Members, MCC Comr.

Mysore/Mysuru: Anjuman-e- Hadeeqathul Adab, a literary, education and social organisation, had organised a function at St. Philomena’s College auditorium on Sunday where newly nominated Member of Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) Mustafa Hussain, newly nominated University of Mysore (UoM) Syndicate Member Prof. Shabbir Mohamed Mustafa and Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Ashaad-ur-Rahman Shariff were felicitated.

Former Vice-Chancellor of Jammu and Kashmir University and Member of University Grants Commission (UGC) Padma Shri  awardee Prof. Jalees Ahmed Khan Tareen presided.

The function began with the recitation of verses from Holy Quran by Noorulla Shariff. President of Anjuman Dr. Mohamed Salahuddin welcomed.

Speaking after being felicitated, KPSC Member Mustafa Hussain said, “We should work for the development of our mother-tongue Urdu and at the same time I am not against any language. I can speak Kannada, English and Urdu very fluently.”

Explaining the importance of education, he said that education is the only solution for the problems and appealed the students to take part in the examination conducted by KPSC and utilise the golden opportunity to serve the society.

MCC Commissioner Ashaad-ur-Rahman Shariff appealed the parents to educate their children.

Stating that in the recent survey, Mysuru city got the 27th rank in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the MCC Commissioner said that their aim was to improve the cleanliness of Mysuru city and make it the number one city in cleanliness besides stating that his aim was to supply water to every house, providing streetlights and upgrade UGD facility.

UoM Syndicate Member Prof. Shabbir Mohamed Mustafa also spoke on the occasion.

S. Moinuddin Pasha, Member of Anjuman, proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. K. Javeed Nayeem compered the programme.
