Mysuru: I Can The Learning Centre School conducted its Annual Athletic Meet recently at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Nazarbad here recently.
Dr. Usha Hege, Mysuru’s first woman to complete the Ironman Western Australian 2019 Triathlon, was the chief guest.
The event began with a guard of honour, hosting of the flag and oath-taking.
The Torch Light Relay was special as Dr. Usha, the School Principal, PE coaches and leaders jointly ran the relay and lit the flame for the day.
The school teachers, students and parents took a unique oath on Sports Day — to say No to plastic and save the earth and to wear helmets and save lives.
The students from LKG to Grade 8, put up a scintillating display of talent in Music & Movement and rendered songs which had the parents respond with cheering them on.
The track events commenced with the Captain’s Race and culminated with the Mixed Relay and 400 meters and 800 meters open event. Parents and staff races were also held. The students dispersed after the prize distribution.
The 4 houses — Zeus, Terra Matter, Poseidon and Vulcan — which represent the elements, fought for the Overall Championship. Zeus won the Championship with a narrow margin.
