GSSS School and College, Siddarthanagar: Geetha Koushalam, the Annual Day of GSSS School and College, Siddarthanagar, was held recently based on the theme ‘Jeevana Moulyani.’
Dr. K.R. Ramesh, Asst. Director, Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden, Mysuru, was the chief guest. Mysore Anand, Comedy Artiste, Mysuru, was the guest of honour. B.V. Srinivas Gupta, Vice-President, GSSS, presided over the function.
Vanaja B. Pandit, Hon. Secretary, GSSS, Rathnamma Kenchegowda, Founder-Member, GSSS, Anupama Pandit, AAO and B.K. Nataraj, Member & Co-ordinator, were present.
Sumana Priyavratha, Head Mistress, welcomed the gathering. The School annual report was read by A.V. Sudha, Principal and College annual report was read by Dr. S. Raviraja, Principal.
Kalavatika, an Art Exhibition, attracted the gathering.
Scholarships, General Proficiency awards and Inter-House Competition prizes were distributed to students.
SSRPUC, Vijayanagar 2nd Stage: Sadvidya Semi-Residential PU College (SSR PUC) celebrated its Annual Day aptly titled ‘Samoda’ recently.
The event commenced with the invocation, followed by welcome address by Dr. M.T. Govinde Gowda, Principal, SSR PUC. Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar, VC, KSGH Music and Arts University, Mysuru, was the chief guest. She spoke how one must work hard to achieve success in their life.
The other dignitaries present during the event were R. Vijayashekhar, President of Kaveri Charitable Trust (KCT), M.D. Gopinath, Secretary, KCT, and Prof. K.S. Hiriyanna, In-charge of SSRPUC, Trustee and Academic Committee Member.
L. Shobha, Cultural Committee Co-ordinator, presented annual report. The students were presented with Endowment cash prize for showing academic excellence in 2016-2017. Sadvidya High School has been started recently in the same premises. The High School students of 9th std. were also given prizes for their achievements in different events conducted in 2017.
A razzmatazz of colours, a bevy of performances and a whirlpool of talent defined ‘Rhythm-17.’
The cultural event commenced with a dance-drama aptly titled ‘Srinivasa Kalyana.’
From a short skit ‘Mad Ads’ to group song by the lecturers to a semi-classical fusion dance, it added colour to the occasion.
The fashion show showcasing the haute couture ‘Paper’, designed by the students, saw them looking confident in their strides.
ACHARYA VIDYA KULA: Kala Sangama, the Annual School Day of Acharya Vidya Kula was held at Kalakshetra, the Open Air Theatre at the School campus, recently.
Dr. M.A. Jayashree, Director, Anantha Research Foundation, Mysuru, was the chief guest. President Andal S. Charry, Secretary Vijaya Satish, Administrator S.M. Acharya, Founder-Trustee Padmini Sridhar, Members of the Governing Board, Principal B.T. Sarojini, Vice-Principal Sudha M. Kumar, students and parents were present.
Students of standard I to V presented a cultural programme comprising dance, drama and group songs, all based on the theme ‘Guru.’
JSS Public School, Siddarthanagar: The 27th Annual Day with theme ‘Spectrum of Beats’ was celebrated at the School premises recently with pomp and show. Zilla Panchayat CEO P. Shivashankar, who was the chief guest, spoke about the importance of nurturing moral values for the all-round development of the children and about inculcating questioning ability.
Former KIKS Professor Dr. Pradhan Gurudatta, in his valedictory address, opined that JSS institution has reached Himalayan heights in the contribution towards education.
JSS Mahavidyapeetha Secretary-1 S.P. Manjunath, in his Presidential address, acknowledged the efforts of staff, students and parents in the growth of the School. He stressed that the parents should monitor the proper usage of electronic gadgets.
MMK&SDM Girls PU College: The Annual Day of the college was celebrated with DDPU V.R. Shamala as the chief guest. Actor Mandya Ramesh was the special invitee. Degree College Principal Prof. Sainath Malligemaadu was the guest of honour. PU College Principal Prof. M.V. Asha presided over the function.
Chief guest Shamala motivated the students to take interest in academic studies and reach greater heights in their future. In her speech she referred to Marie Curie and encouraged the students to take inspiration from her.
On this occasion, guests distributed the prizes to the winners of various cultural and sports activities conducted in the academic year 2017-18.
Bindushree welcomed. Sahana Edigar read out the messages from the dignitaries who were unable to attend the programme. Mansitha proposed a vote of thanks. Chandana was the Master of Ceremony. The formal function was followed by various cultural events performed by the students.
