Annual Sports Day held at Nypunya School

Mysuru: Sports plays a pivotal role in developing skills and personality to face challenges and to work in groups, said Superintendent of Police (retd.) Shankare Gowda, here recently.

Speaking after inaugurating the Annual Sports Day of Nypunya School at Chamundi Vihar Stadium, he said that sports not only purified the body and soul but also strengthened it physically.

“Sports also acts as a platform for students to achieve in their field of interest. Students should get inspired from great personalities such as Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, APJ

Abdul Kalam among others. They need to also take losses as a positive step to achieve success in the future,” he advised.

Former Karnataka Exhibition Authority Chairman B.P. Manjunath distributed prizes to winners during the valedictory ceremony. A total of 650 students took part in the annual sports meet. The school had organised sports for the parents of the students also.

Nypunya School of Excellence Chairman R. Raghu, Principal M.N. Mahendra, Vice-Principal Shalini Majo, Education Co-ordinator Reshma Rai, teaching and non-teaching staff were present on the occasion.
