Mysore/Mysuru: Additional Deputy Commissioner R. Aishwarya said that the District Administration will observe Anti-Child Labour Day (officially known as World Day Against Child Labour) on June 12 in a meaningful manner. She was speaking after presiding over a preliminary meeting at the DC office here recently.
“On June 12, a mega rally of school and college students, accompanied by a host of folk troupes, will be taken out from Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple at the Palace North Gate in the morning under the aegis of Kannada and Culture Department. Subsequently, the stage programme will take place at People’s Park in Nazarbad at 11 am, during which volunteers who are engaged actively in eradication of child labour will be felicitated,” Aishwarya said.
Pointing out that an oath on Anti-Child Labour will be taken by staff in all Government Departments, Schools and Colleges, ZP and all other local body offices at 11 am on June 12, the ADC asked all the District-level officials to mandatorily take part in the event.
Aishwarya further said that essay, speech and painting contests will be held at Primary School, High School and College levels as part of Anti-Child Labour Day.
Assistant Labour Commissioner, Mysuru Division, Lalitha Bai, Labour Officer Chetan Kumar, Planning Director H.P. Mallikarjun and others were present.
