Apartment locks itself up after inmate tests positive

Bengaluru: An apartment complex on Cunningham Road, Bengaluru, has locked itself and its residents have quarantined themselves after a 20-year-old woman who recently returned from London on Mar.14, was infected and tested positive for Coronavirus on Mar. 16.

A resident of the apartment confirmed that the infected woman has been kept in isolation at a private hospital in city.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has set up a team of 10 officials, who are monitoring the health of the residents round-the-clock.

Prior to declaring the lockdown, the Apartment Owners’ Association drew up an elaborate set of guidelines which residents have to follow. No one is allowed to enter or leave the apartment till Mar. 22. “Domestic help and drivers who come from outside have been informed not to come to work until the lock-down period ends. There are 36 flats in the apartment complex and we are recording temperature of everyone, as per the directions of BBMP Guidelines,” a Association member said.
