Appeal to MUDA Chairman

Sir,

This has reference to the news item “MUDA Chairman on inspection-spree” (SOM dated Sept.7). The Chairman’s visit centred around inspection of eight sites located in different localities and are in custody of MUDA that have been identified for executing the Affordable Group Housing Scheme that is pending since 2012. A survey was also conducted during 2016 and thousands of people queued up and filed their applications for sites/houses etc.

Before embarking on execution of these pending projects the Chairman will earn the goodwill of the people if he visits the project areas that have already been executed and where people are actually living, for ascertaining their grassroot level basic need-based problems like water supply, roads, drainage and other demands; whether they have all the facilities, amenities and infrastructure as promised by MUDA and address them on a war-footing.

He may also get information on incomplete works/pending community projects etc., in various localities, inspect them and see that they are completed within a time-frame.

MUDA has enough money now due to auction of various vacant plots for meeting this expenditure. People living in MUDA layouts may send details of their problems to the Chairman or MUDA Commissioner for redressal.

The new schemes may also be activated at a later date in view of the existing slump in the real estate market due to COVID pandemic, labour problem, tight money market etc.
