The Department of Handloom and Textiles has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to Diploma Course in Handloom and Textiles Technology (DHTT) for the year 2026-27. The course, having 39 seats, is open for male and female candidates, who will be selected on the basis of merit. A total of 22 seats are available at Karnataka Handloom Technology Institute, Gadag-Betageri, 12 at Indian Handloom Technology Institute, Salem, Tamil Nadu, three at SPKM Indian Handloom Technology Institute, Venkatagiri, Andhra Pradesh and two at Indian Handloom Technology Institute, Kannur, Kerala.
Candidates who have passed SSLC or equivalent exam and have studied English, are eligible to apply for the course. Selected candidates will receive Rs. 2,500 as stipend. Male candidates can avail hostel facilities, but on the basis of their willingness to pay hostel fees. The age limit for general category candidates is 15 to 23 years, while for SC and ST community candidates, it is 15 to 25 years. Candidates will be selected based on the entrance examination marks.
