Government-Constituted Committee to choose most deserving achievers

Bengaluru: In a notable shift from previous years, the Department of Kannada and Culture has discontinued the online application process to apply for the State-level Kannada  Rajyotsava Awards this year.

Kannada and Culture Minister Shivaraj S. Tangadagi announced that, for the first time, the Department will not invite applications through its online portal.

Instead, eligible candidates will be selected by the Advisory and High-level Selection Committees constituted by the Department. The Minister clarified that even self-nominations already submitted will be placed before the Committees for consideration.

In celebration of the 70th Kannada Rajyotsava on Nov. 1, the State Government will confer the prestigious award on 70 distinguished achievers across various fields. Each award includes a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh, a 20-gram gold medal, a citation, a ceremonial shawl and a commemorative memento.
