Mysuru: The University of Mysore (UoM) has instructed all autonomous and affiliated colleges within its jurisdiction to apply for affiliation for the academic year 2025-26 through the Unified University and College Management System (UUCMS) portal — https://uucms.karnataka.gov.in
Colleges can file applications for temporary renewal of affiliation for Under-Graduate (UG) or Post-Graduate (PG) courses, permanent affiliation for new courses, subjects or languages, as well as for student admissions — whether additional or reduced. Applications may also be submitted to establish new colleges or introduce new UG courses in existing institutions.
Permanent affiliation
Registered educational institutions must propose the establishment of a new First Grade College with a minimum of two courses. Colleges that have received temporary affiliation for five consecutive years and have secured at least a NAAC ‘C’ grade — while demonstrating total compliance with the Local Inspection Committee’s conditions — are eligible to seek permanent affiliation for their respective courses or subjects.
Composite First Grade Colleges intending to introduce PG courses must have completed five years of affiliation as outlined in the Education Department’s guidelines. They should also have a minimum of four eligible teaching faculty members (with at least two Ph.D holders) and adequate basic infrastructure for conducting research activities to submit applications for starting PG courses in the academic year 2025-26.
MBA and MCA courses
Institutions renewing affiliation for existing MBA and MCA courses must comply with the guidelines set forth by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), the University Grants Commission (UGC), and the Government.
AICTE-recognised institutions may submit applications to start B.Ed Colleges, while those offering new B.Ed, B.P.Z., BA.Ed, and BSc.Ed programmes can apply to initiate M.Ed, MP.Ed, MSc.Ed and other PG courses.
All rules and guidelines issued by the UGC, the Government and the University must be strictly adhered to. Applications should only be submitted for courses, subjects and options that comply with the University’s guidelines; non-compliant applications will not be considered.
Ineligibility for fee exemption
According to the Government order, college managements belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) are required to pay only 50 percent of the stipulated fee for affiliation. They must submit the necessary certificate; failure to do so will result in ineligibility for the fee exemption.
Applications should be addressed to the Registrar, University of Mysore, Mysuru – 570005, with hard copies submitted to the Director, College Development Council, Moulya Bhavan, Bogadi Road, Manasagangothri, Mysuru.
The application submission period is from Oct. 25, 2024, to Nov. 15, 2024. For further details, contact via e-mail: cdc@uni-mysore.ac.in or visit the website www.uni-mysore.ac.in or over Ph: 0821-2419306/415.
