Mysore/Mysuru: The follo-wing have been appointed as members of the Academic Council of University of Mysore — S. Nandish, a resident of Siddalingeshwara Layout in J.P. Nagar, Mysuru, T. Nagaraju, a resident of V.V. Nagar in Mandya, Dr. S.T. Prashanth, a resident of Subashnagar in K.R. Pet of Mandya district (As professional representatives of Industries, Banking, Commerce etc.), Prof. K.V. Aiyanna (Director, Centre for Information Science and Technology, Institute of Development Studies,  University of Mysore- SC/ST quota), M.P. Shashikumar, a resident of Hanakere in Mandya taluk (Backward classes quota), Dr. Bhagyalakshmi, a Dentist and resident of Gokula extension of Yeshwanthpur in Bengaluru (women’s quota) and L. Askar Ali, a Ph.D holder and  resident of old Santhemala in Gundlupet (Religious minorities quota).

The Governor of Karnataka, who is also the Chancellor of all State-run Universities, has made these appointments.
