Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot seeks details of probe report submitted by Justice H.S. Kempanna Commission

Bengaluru: The  Arkavathy illegal denotification case is expected to return to haunt Chief Minister Siddaramaiah again.

Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has sought information from the State Government about the case of denotifiying 541 acres of land at Arkavathy Layout, marked for development by Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), during the previous tenure of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

The Opposition parties since then have been raking up the issue alleging that about Rs. 7,000 crore had exchanged hands in the name of redo, while denotifying the land earmarked for Arkavathy Layout.

Even though Justice H S Kempanna Commission was constituted to probe into the allegations, CM Siddaramaiah refrained from tabling the report before the State Legislature. The Commission had submitted the report in 2017 itself, when Siddaramaiah was in office.

Now, Governor Gehlot has directed the State Government to submit the probe report of Justice H.S. Kempanna Commission and the files related to the denotification of land in Arkavathy Layout in the name of redo.
