Mysuru: Karnataka State Dalita Sangharsha Samiti (DSS) has demanded that the Government must immediately arrest former Mysuru-Kodagu MP Prathap Simha and asked BJP to remove R. Ashoka, who is instigating Simha, from his position as the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in State Assembly.
In a press release, State DSS Convenor Devagalli Somashekar & other DSS leaders, have alleged that Simha was frequently creating unrest in society by causing divisions and tensions among castes and religions.
Recently, an FIR has been registered against him for provoking people during a public Ganesha idol immersion at T. Narasipur. In view of this, the Government must arrest Prathap Simha immediately and restore confidence in our legal system among the citizens, they stated.
The DSS has also strongly disapproved the reaction of R. Ashoka, who had said Prathap Simha already has 25 cases against him and neither BJP nor Simha are afraid of one more case. “This is an irresponsible statement which belittles our legal system by a man who is holding a high office in BJP. He has tarnished the image of his high position by speaking casually about the legal process of our country,” said the DSS.
The Govt. must ensure that law and order is strictly maintained in the State and also see that nobody speaks irresponsibly about our legal system. BJP must immediately remove Ashoka from his position of LoP for irresponsible statement, the DSS urged.
