Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Purandara and Sri Thyagaraja Aradhana-2020 by Surabhi Ganakala Mandira Trust was held at Prasanna Parvathi Convention Centre in V.V. Mohalla here recently.  Industrialist and art patron K.V. Murthy was conferred with ‘Kala Sevaratna’ award on the occasion.

‘Art makes our lives more meaningful.  Literature, music, dance and Yakshagana give joy to the audience. Music was in two parts earlier, singing and playing. Now both are incorporated together. The works of Purandara and Thyagaraja In Karnatak classical music are immense and will remain immortal. The younger generation should continue learning music,’ K.V. Murthy said.
