Articulate Dance Fest on Sunday

Mysuru:  Articulate Dance Festival is held on the third Sunday of every month  with a mission to provide holistic and heritage experience to the rasikas of Mysuu city.

The following artistes will be performing in Articulate Festival-39 on Aug.18 at 6 pm at Veene Seshanna Bhavana in Kuvempunagar, according to Mysore B. Nagaraj, Artistic Director and Festival Coordinator:

Deepak Kumar and Preethikala: B. Deepak Kumar is an avid Bharatanatyam artiste hailing from Puttur, Coastal Karnataka. His passion for dance was discovered and nurtured under the guidance of Guru Ambale Rajeshwari of Madikeri. Later honed by late Guru Narmada, Bengaluru, in Tanjore style and Guru Ullal Mohan Kumar, Mangaluru, in Pandanallur style.

A M.F.A. graduate in Bharatanatyam, he is a recipient of National Merit Talent Search Scholarship (by CCRT, New Delhi) and has passed Vidwat grade examination with a distinction.

Preethikala, wife of Deepak Kumar, is training in Bharatanatyam  under Guru Vidushi Yasha Ramakrishna, Manipal. She furthered her training through workshops under gurus like Padmashri Adayar K.Lakshmanan, Bragha Bassel and  Sheejith Krishnan. 

A Bachelor in Arts, she completed her Vidwat Grade examination in both Bharatanatyam and Karnatak Music. She has received State scholarship from Sangeetha Nritya Academy and also Central Government scholarship from Ministry  of Culture.

Laetitia Sieffert: Laetitia started Bharatanatyam in Chennai in 2009 and continued her apprenticeship under the tutelage of several gurus, including  Vasanth Kumar at “Sri Rajeshwari Bharatanatyam Kala Mandir” in Bombay and Malavika Klein, a pioneer of Bharatanatyam in France based in Paris, disciple of late Ellappa Pillai and V. S. Muthuswamy Pillai. In February 2016, she presented her arrangetram at “Mysore Association Auditorium” in Bombay.

Laetitia is now based in Geneva and continues to dance under the guidance of Sujatha Venkatesh, Founder, Omkara School of Indian Dance, disciple of U.S. Krishna Rao and Guru Narmada, Switzerland.

Ameera Jagadish Patankar: She started her Kathak training under Guru Shama Bhate at Nadroop, Pune. She stood 1st in Lalit kala Kendra, Pune University, where she completed her MA in Kathak. 

She has worked with Jazz musicians fusing Kathak and western traditional music, apart from studying Applied theatre. Recipient of the National Scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Culture, she has been conferred with the ‘Singar-Mani’ by the Sur Singar Samiti.

Spoorthi Aurobbindo: A Bharatanatyam artiste was trained in Pandanallur style under Dr. Vasundhara Doreswamy at Mysuru. She is the Founder-Director of “Kalakuteeram School of Dance” teaching Bharatanatyam to aspiring students. She has given performance in Kandersteg, Switzerland and in Fort Lauderdale, Miami.
