Articulate Festival, coordinated by Mysore B. Nagaraj, is conducted on the 3rd Sunday of every Month, in the royal city of Mysuru. Accomplished Indian Classical dancers both from India and abroad take part in this festival.
Sunday, 17th June, is a very special day as Articulate will be celebrating the 25th of the dance concert series. Over the past 24 months, Articulate festival has showcased more than 350 artistes performing Bharatanatya, Kathak, Odissi, Kuchipudi, Mohiniattam, Sattaria, Manipuri and folk traditions.
Legends of Indian classical dance Padma Shree awardee Guru Ranjana Gauhar, Delhi, will be performing Odissi while Guru Shama Bhate from Pune will showcase Kathak and Guru Deepak Mazumdar from Mumbai will present Bharatanatya this weekend. The renowned artistes will focus in their artistry, the slowly vanishing art of Satwika Abhinaya aspect that awakens the finer sensitivities in the prekshaka. In this age of fast moving transitory dance images, the stalwarts will sink in the pure bhava of the Natya, Rasotpatti at its best. The concert will start at 6 pm at Ramabai Govindrao Hall, next to Veene Seshanna Bhavana, Adichunchanagiri Road, Kuvempunagar. Entry for the event is free.
