Sri Ramanuja Sahasramana Trust fetes Srivaishnava Purohits

Mysuru: Bhagawad Sri Ramanuja Sahasramana Trust and Sri Ramanujam Prathishtanam, had jointly organised felicitations to the Srivaishnava Purohits, Temple Archaks and Caterers on Tuesday at Andal Mandiram in V.V. Mohalla.

The Trust, as part of Sri Ramanuja Sahasramana celebrations is organising year-long spiritual programmes and on account of the same, this felicitation event was held.

The event witnessed honouring of 12 Purohits, 12 Archaks and 5 caterers in the presence of Sri Shanthivrathanandaji Maharaj of Sri Ramakrishna Mutt.

Dr. T.V. Sathyanarayana, former Deputy Director of Oriental Research Institute (ORI)and Hon. Advisor, was the chief guest. B. S. Parthasarathi, President of Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions, presided.

Dr. Sathyanarayana, in his address, recalled the services of Srivaishnava Purohits and Archaks who have gone unnoticed in spite of them working for the good of the society.

He said that anyone can become a Brahmin if he can practice certain rituals and customs of purohitya and there is no bar for any caste restricting it.

H.V.L.N. Achar, President of Sri Ramanuja Sahasramana Trust, compered the programme which witnessed a large gathering.
