Sir,
With reference to the letter titled ‘Ashokapuram Station lacks lifts, passengers struggle’ published in Star of Mysore dated June 29, the following clarification is issued in the interest of providing factual information to passengers:
It is clarified that the provision of one lift each at Platform No. 1, Platforms No. 2/3, Platforms No. 4/5 and Platform No. 6 at Ashokapuram Railway Station, connected to the existing Foot Over Bridge (FOB), has already been sanctioned during the financial year 2024-25.
The work for the installation of these lifts is currently in progress and the Railway Administration is making every effort to complete the work at the earliest for the convenience of passengers.
The Railway Administration remains committed to continuously improving passenger amenities and ensuring safe, accessible and convenient travel facilities at all Stations.
We also appeal to the media to kindly verify factual details with this office before publishing reports related to Railway matters in the future.
