Mysuru: An Assistant Sub-Inspector attached to Devaraja Traffic Police Station has been suspended for allegedly extorting money from roadside vendors in city.
The suspended ASI has been identified as Rangaswamy.
It is reported that the ASI was extorting money from roadside vendors which was captured in the cell phone of a businessman, who sent the recording to City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao demanding action against the ASI. The Commissioner, in turn, ordered DCP N. Rudramuni to investigate. The DCP after going through the video recording, suspended the ASI.
