Asia 14 & Under Grade A (South East Asia) Tennis Tournament: Padmapriya wins bronze

Mysuru, Aug. 17 (VNS)-City’s tennis prodigy Padmapriya Ramesh Kumar, who took part in the Asia 14 & Under Grade A (South East Asia) Tennis Tournament at Epsome College, Bandar Enstek in Malaysia recently, won bronze medal.

Playing for 3rd and 4th position, Padmapriya beat No. 1 seed Shivalu Gurung of Nepal 2-4, 4-0, 4-2. She received USD 450 for reaching the quarter-final and also received scholarship to attend special tennis camp at Mouratoglu Tennis Academy in Malaysia during October this year.

A Class 8 student of Excel Public School, Mysuru, Padmapriya is the daughter of Dr. P. Ramesh Kumar, Conservator of Forests (Project Tiger), Mysuru and Dr. Malathi Priya, Conservator of Forests (Working Plan, Mysuru). Raghuveer Ponnuswamy and Pawan are her coaches and Sagar is her fitness trainer.
