Mysuru: Dr. S. Nairuthya, Consultant Gastrosurgeon at Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru and Dr. Rajkumar P. Wadhwa, Chief Gastroenterologist & Head of Institutes of Gastroenterology, Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru, have jointly performed a novel surgical technique called “Laparoscopic Assisted Transjejunal Endoscopic Retrograde Roux en Y Hepaticojejunostomy Stricture Dilatation – The Roux End Approach.”

The video of this surgical technique was presented by Dr. Nairuthya at the 14th Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA) Annual conference held at Kuala Lampur, Malaysia, from Nov.15 to 17.

The Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA) is a non-profitable organisation founded by a small group of Asian endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery enthusiasts in 1990.

The Society was chartered in Singapore on June 12, 1992 with the objectives like: to foster and develop endoscopic surgery in Asia, to share experience and expertise, and to give advice on standards of practice in member countries.

The annual ELSA Congress represents an important event in the international calendar of endoscopic surgery.
