ASI’s son killed in road accident near Bilikere

Mysuru: A youth was killed while two others sustained injuries, when the car in which they were travelling toppled near Ullenahalli near Bilikere last morning.

The deceased youth is Dhanush, son of Devaraja Traffic Assistant Sub-Inspector Subbanna, while the injured are Sridhar and Prashanth, who are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in city.

Speaking to Star of Mysore, ASI Subbanna said that Dhanush, who was pursuing his final year BA course at St. Joseph’s College here, left for Madikeri along with his friends Sridhar and Prashanth Urs in a car (KA-03-AF-5875) and when they reached Ullenahalli Gate on Hunsur Road at about 7.30 am, the driver lost control of the car which toppled, resulting in the occupants of the car suffering serious injuries.

The public immediately shifted the injured to a private hospital in Vidyaranyapuram in city and Dhanush was later shifted to JSS Hospital for further treatment where he breathed his last at about 2.30 pm.

Bilikere Police, who have registered a case in this regard, have seized the car.

Post-mortem was conducted and the body of Dhanush was shifted to his residence at Gowrishankar Nagar and thelast rites were performed today at Vidyaranyapuram Burial Grounds, according to family sources.
