Mysuru:  A woman from Bengaluru, who had visited an astrologer in city, has lodged a complaint at K.R. Police Station, alleging that she was cheated by the astrologer of Rs.50 lakh.

The woman, identified as Veena of Bengaluru, along with her friend Padma, had visited the astrologer identified as Balachandra Hegde at Krishnamurthypuram in city.

Few months later, Balachandra called Veena over the phone and asked her to give him Rs.50,000 for interest. Believing Balachandra, Veena had given him the amount and the astrologer gave her the interest for the amount for two to three months.

In her complaint, Veena has stated that she had given Rs.10 lakh three times to Balachandra and added that Balachandra again asked her to give him Rs.20 lakh promising her (Veena) that he would give her Rs.1 crore.

The complaint further stated that Balachandra, after receiving a total sum of Rs.50 lakh, has now gone absconding. K.R. Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
