National Conference on Astrology and Palmistry concludes
“Nobody can destroy astrology which has a strong base,” said Dr. Sri Shivananda Shivacharya Swamiji of Chikkapet Hiremutt, Tumkakuru.
He was speaking on the second and last day of the National Conference on Astrology and Palmistry organised jointly by Mayakara Gurukula and Karnataka Sanskrit University at Kalamandira here on Sunday.
The Swamiji said that he believed in astrology but not the future predictions. He added that astrology is a science but not the predictions. He pointed out that predictions were just speculations and advised astrologers to qualify themselves in that science and not through predictions.
On the lines of meteorological forecast, astrologers present a report based on movement of planets and positions of stars. The present should be loved and nurtured by everybody, suggested the Swamiji.
Former Minister S.A. Ramdas inaugurated the sessions on second day of Conference.
Speaking after receiving the felicitation, Suttur Shivarathreeshwara Panchanga writer K.G. Puttahonnaiah said that astrology has an ancient history of 21,000 years which should be preserved.
Three books Pranavam Panchaga, Jathaka Prathi mattu Jyothishya Pusthaka and Bhavath Bhavada Vismaya were released on the occasion.
Mayakara Gurukula founder Dr. Mugur Madhu Dikshit and senior astrologers participated in the conference.
