The 34th annual Inter-House Athletic Meet of Tibetan Children’s Village School at Bylakuppe was held yesterday. Students took part in a march-past and performed Lezim.
The chief guest for the opening ceremony, Gelak Jungney, Settlement Officer Ligsam, said that the physical education is very important besides the students’ academic performance.
The school observed the day as ‘Thank You India’ according to the programme chalked out by the Central Tibetan Administration, Dharamsala, to observe the year 2018 as ‘Thank You India’ to express gratitude to the people and the Government of India.
To symbolise ‘Thank You,’ over 600 students displayed callisthenic formation in the from of Indian National Flag. While junior students displayed dumbbell, the senior girls performed zombo dance.
Tsering Chopel, Principal, Sambhota Tibetan School – CVP TDL, was the chief guest for the closing ceremony and the meet ended with prize distribution ceremony.
The Yellow House among the four Houses lifted the Overall Championship Trophy.
The TCV Director Tsering Palden, Principal Dhondup Tsering, Head Master Namgyal Tsering attended the event.
