ATME organises Marathon-2K26

Mysuru:  As part of the annual fest ‘Aadhyaya-2K26,’ ATME Engineering College organised marathon in the city under the theme ‘Honour the hands that keep our city clean’ to promote social responsibility among students and the general public, here recently.

The marathon was flagged off from the University of Mysore Athletic Grounds (Oval Grounds) by actress Priyanka Achar and international athlete M.R. Dhanusha in presence of ATME Chairman L. Arun Kumar and other dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, actress Priyanka Achar appreciated the college for organising marathon to instil a sense of responsibility and awareness among students.

Chief guest M.R. Dhanusha in her address highlighted the importance of physical and mental fitness, stressing that running should be a part of daily routine to develop a healthy lifestyle.

The 5.8 km run which began from Oval Grounds and passed through Krishnaraja Boulevard, K.G. Koppal junction,Jayanagar Railway Gate junction, Saraswathi Talkies Road, Kukkarahalli Lake, Kalamandira before culminating at Oval Grounds.

Around 1,100 participants, including students, staff and general public took part in the event.

Results: Students Category – Girls: 1. Apoorva (Civil), 2. Nisha (Design), 3. Adhurya (Design)Boys: 1. V.R. Rahul (Mechanical), Ramesh (Mechanical), 3. Rachan Devayya (AIML); Staff Category: 1. S. Pradeep (Cyber Security), 2. Manukumar (Civil), H.D. Satish (Computer Science); General Public (Men): 1. Purushotham, 2.  Bharath                                                    Reddy,  3. Sumanth; Women: 1. S. Deekshitha, 2. N.R. Sabha, 3. Shobha.

Winners were awarded cash prizes and certificates during the valedictory ceremony. The event was presided by ATME Chairman L. Arun Kumar. 

ATME Secretary K. Shivashankar, Treasurer R. Veeresh, ATME Principal Dr. L. Basavaraj, Administrative Officer Dr. Sachidanandamurthy, Cultural Committee Head Dr. D. Puttegowda, Dean Dr. Srinivas, faculty members and students were present on the occasion.
