Audience enthralled with lilting film hits of yesteryears

Mysuru:  Ninaad Musical Trust along with MMC Alumni Association had organised a musical programme titled ‘Gaana Sudhe Vincent Jothe’ at the Platinum Jubilee Hall in JK Grounds here last evening.

A group of singers rendered popular songs from Kannada, Tamil and Hindi movies of yesteryears. The programme commenced with singer Neetu Ninad rendering a devotional song ‘Govinda ninna naamave chanda’. Later Siddaraj Kote sang ‘Ninna Kanna notadalli’ from the movie ‘Babruvahana’ getting an applause from the audience.

Down the line singers Amulya, Nagavalli, Joyce, Bhuvaneshwari, Ashwini Rao, Keshavan, Devika, Anuradha, Priya, Bhagya, Dr. Brahmendra, Dr. Subhash, Dr. Anand, Dr. Manjunath, Kashinath, Manjunath, Siddaraju, Jagadish, Sinchana, Prakash, Narasimha, Muthuraj, Nagendra, Shivaraj, Papanna, Lokesh, Prasanna and Srivani rendered songs from the movies ‘Shor’, ‘Veerakesari’, ‘Keralida Simha’, ‘Hrudaya Hadithu’ and many more.

Inaugurating the programme Music Director Gururaj said that music always soothes mind and brings happiness. He asked music organisations to identify and nurture budding singers. He opined that hard work and regular practice alone can evolve a good musician.

Popular Drums and Rhythm Pad artiste of city Vincent was presented musical instruments and felicitated on the occasion.

Trust President A.S. Prasanna Kumar, A.S. Ravishankar, Mahesh Kumar, Divya Keshavan, Mike Chandru and others were present at the event.
