Auditor killed in hit-and-run incident

Nanjangud: An auditor, who had suffered serious injuries when an unidentified vehicle rammed into the bike on which he and his brother were riding on Nanjangud-Mysuru National Highway yesterday, has breathed his last at a private hospital in Mysuru.

While the deceased is Chethan (30), a native of Hyderabad, his brother, 33-year-old Arun Pratap Singh, who suffered serious injuries, has been admitted to a private hospital in Mysuru.

Chethan had come to a factory at Adakanahalli Industrial Area to conduct audit and was staying at the guest house near Tandavapura.

Yesterday morning, Chethan and his brother Arun had gone to Chamundi Hill and were on their way back to the guest house, when an unidentified vehicle rammed into their bike and sped away leaving the rider and the pillion seriously injured.

Though both were rushed to a private hospital in Mysuru, Chethan succumbed to injuries and Arun is undergoing treatment there. Nanjangud Circle Inspector Shekar, Sub-Inspector Shivamma, visited the spot, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to a hospital for post-mortem. 

A case has been registered at the Traffic Police Station and the Police have launched a hunt to trace the unidentified vehicle and nab the driver.
