Auditorium inauguration to mark centenary of Good Shepherd School

Mysuru: Good Shepherd Convent High School, Mysuru, will celebrate its centenary on July 31 at 4.30 pm, marking 100 years of excellence in education, faith and service, as it is the birthday of St. Mary Euphrasia Pelletier, the Foundress of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd. Since its inception, the institution has nurtured generations of students with values of compassion, discipline and integrity.

Most Rev. Dr. Francis Serrao S.J, Bishop of Mysore, will be the chief guest. Sr. Lissy Chacko, Province Leader, Good Shepherd Sisters South West India, Pramoda Devi Wadiyar of the erstwhile Mysore Royal Family and Dr. Javeed Nayeem, a distinguished alumnus of Good Shepherd School, will be the guests of honour.

The highlight of the occasion will be the unveiling of the state-of-the-art ‘Kaveri Auditorium’ Plaque, a gift of love generously sponsored by the Wesley & Nair families. This auditorium stands as a symbol of love, gratitude, inclusiveness and a renewed commitment to nurturing future generations.

On this occasion, the school will be screening a documentary film chronicling its 100-year journey from a humble beginning to a school much sought after. This will be followed by a cultural mosaic of South India, an expression in dance form and an enactment titled “A Shepherdess’ Heart for the World” showcasing the talents of the children.

The Musical Finale — live musical concert by Jasper, The Band, will entertain the children, parents, alumni and the invitees.

The event will conclude with the centenary anthem.

On the milestone, Principal Sr. Josephine remarked, “This centenary is not merely a celebration of years, but of lives touched, futures shaped and values instilled. We honour our past, rejoice in our present and look forward to a future of continued service. Good Shepherd Convent High School extends its heartfelt thanks to the people of Mysuru, alumni worldwide and all well-wishers for their unwavering support. The centenary celebration is both a moment of pride and a pledge to continue fostering excellence in education and service.”
