Australian Open: Rohan Bopanna-Ebden pair enter men’s doubles final

India’s Rohan Bopanna and his Australian partner Matthew Ebden reached the Australian Open men’s doubles tennis final defeating Thomas Machac (Czech Republic) and Z.Z. Zhang (China) pair in a thrilling three-setter semi-final at Rod Laver Arena, here this morning.

The Indo-Australian pair won the first set comfortably 6-3 and lost the second set 3-6. The third set saw an intense fight taking it into a tie-breaker. Bopanna and Ebden held their nerves to win the tie-breaker 10-7 to enter the finals. Rohan Bopanna, who entered the finals, broke his own record of being the oldest man to enter a Grand Slam final. This is the first time that Rohan Bopanna has entered the Australian Open men’s doubles final.

Rohan Bopanna and Ebden will face Italian pair S. Bolelli and A.Vavassori on Jan. 27. Viewers can catch the live action on Sony Sports Network.
