Australian Parliamentary delegation visits Suttur Mutt in city

Mysore/Mysuru: An Australian Parliamentary delegation which is on a nationwide tour to study various sectors in India, visited Suttur Mutt in the city on Thursday and held talks with Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji.

The delegation, headed by Michelle Hopkins Roberts, currently serving as the Speaker of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly, comprised of Opposition Leader Dr. David Honey, Members of the Legislative Assembly Dr.Jagadish Krishnan, Cyasandra Row and David Skife.

The delegation was apprised of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reached between JSS Institutions and various Universities of Australia. The delegation expressing happiness at the MoUs, said that suitable action will be taken after reviewing the MoUs and student and faculty exchange programmes, under which final year JSS Institutions are studying their final year degree in Australian Universities. Also, all efforts will be made for further strengthening the co-operation and co-ordination between the two countries.

All the delegation members were felicitated on the occasion.

JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Dr.Surinder Singh, KSOU Vice-Chancellor Prof.SharanappaHalase, West Bengal cadre IAS Officer Kempahonnaiah, JSS University Registrar Dr. B. Manjunath, Principal Dr. H. Basavanagowdappa and others were present.
