Hunsur: An incident of a youth assaulting two auto drivers with a machete and injuring them seriously has been reported from Mururamma Layout here last night.

While the injured have been identified as Chandrashekar and Suresh, the youth who assaulted them has been identified as Avinash, who is absconding. The injured are undergoing treatment at a hospital.

It is learnt that the three were consuming food at a party last night when a fight broke out between Avinash and Suresh for petty reasons. As the verbal fight escalated, Avinash assaulted Suresh with a machete he had with him injuring Suresh on his neck. Chandrashekar, who tried to stop the fight, was also assaulted with the machete by Suresh, who later fled from the scene.

The public immediately rushed the injured to the General Hospital besides informing the Police. Sources said that Avinash has many cases registered against him. Hunsur Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
