Auto drivers urge Traffic Police for time to pay pending fines

Mysuru: Urging Traffic Police to provide them time as they were finding it difficult to pay fine for various traffic offences at one go, auto drivers have requested the Police to collect pending fines in instalments.

The auto drivers were speaking during the public grievances meet organised at Devaraja Traffic Police Station here on Saturday. The grievances meet was being addressed by Devaraja Traffic Inspector L. Srinivas.

Auto drivers said that they come to know about pending traffic offence cases only during the drives by Traffic Police who demand full payment of fines from them which is impossible for them to pay in one go. Meanwhile, taxi drivers complained that Ola and other cab companies were picking up and dropping customers at Sub-urban Bus Stand which was causing a lot of problems to them.

Other complaints and suggestions were to establish an auto stand at Makkaji Chowk, signal lights not visible at the south side of K.R. Circle etc. At N.R. Traffic Police Station, complaints and suggestions such as a CCTV installed to a pole at the signal light near Deaf and Dumb School on the Jumboo Savari route leaning dangerously and establishing an auto stand near Meelad Park on Ashoka Road were heard.  The meeting was chaired by N.R. Traffic Inspector Jayakumar.

Similar meetings were held at V.V. Puram and Siddarthanagar Traffic Police Stations.
