Mysore/Mysuru: A.S. Abhishek, Founder-Secretary, Gravity Science Foundation, Chamarajanagar, has received the State Award given by the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Karnataka, from Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai at Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bengaluru on Mar. 8.
Abhishek, hailing from Alur village in Chamarajanagar district, is a Science Communicator, Educator and Science Promoter in rural areas of Chamarajanagar, Mysuru and different parts of Karnataka to popularise Basic Sciences among students as well as in general public. He is currently working as Assistant Professor in Physics at GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women, Mysuru. In order to promote Basic Sciences among School and College students, he started to serve in the field of Science since 2012. From last 10 years, he has visited hundreds of Schools, Colleges and delivered many Science lectures and conducted Science programmes for the scientific community. He has reached thousands of students and demonstrated many experiments in the remote areas of Karnataka and motivated tribal children also. Abhishek has received several awards including the National Youth Icon Award-2109, Young Scientist Award, Keerthishree Award and Innovative Teacher Award. He is a Life-Member of professional bodies like Indian Association of Physics Teachers, KRVP etc.
