Awareness on ‘Workers rights under various labour laws’ held

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of 75 years of Indian Independence (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav), Ministry of Labour and Employment, New Delhi, in association with the Office of Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner, Bengaluru (Central), had organised an awareness and sensitisation programme for employees at BEML Ltd., Mysuru Complex, in city recently.

The event was held to educate the Contract Labourers about their rights under various labour laws and for employers regarding compliances and responsibilities under various labour laws.

Presiding over the event, Pramod Kumar, Labour Enforcement Officer (Central), briefed about various privileges and welfare schemes available under the labour laws for contract workers and advised them to utilise the same on requirement. 

He further explained the various statutory compliances to be followed by the employers as per the labour laws in line with the recent modification of filing statutory returns etc.
