Awareness on Cancer and Coronavirus at Women’s Day celebration by ODP

Mysuru/Mysore: Awareness on Cancer and Coronavirus was created during the International Women’s Day celebration organised by the Organisation for the Development of People (ODP) at St. Philomena’s College Indoor Stadium in city yesterday.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Radiation Oncologist of Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology, Mysuru, Dr. Vishweshwara and Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Assistant Professor Dr. C. Anitha created awareness on how the deadly coronavirus spreads and steps to be taken to prevent the virus from spreading. Awareness was also created about Cancer and precautions to be taken to avoid contracting the disease.

Woman thinker from Mangaluru Prof. Rita Noronha inaugurated the programme. Bishop of Mysore Most Rev. Dr. K.A. William, who is also the President of ODP presided. ODP Vice-President Rev. Msgr. C. Rayappa, Professor and Chairperson of Food Science and Nutrition Department, University of Mysore Dr. Asna Urooj, Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights former                                                                     Chairperson Kripa Alva, ODP Director Fr. Alex Prashanth Sequeira, Advisory Member Loretto, Mysore Diocese Women Commission’s Emily and others were present.
