Awareness on Energy Savings for ITI students

Mysuru: Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL), Mysore Regional Office, had organised an awareness programme on Energy Savings at Sri Srikanteswara ITI College, Mysuru, under ITI Students Awareness programme sponsored by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power,  Government of India, recently.

The objective was to create a sense of responsibility among students towards the current energy crisis and inspiring them to take action to spread awareness on renewable energy resources.

More than 150 students got first-hand understanding of how solar water heaters, solar cooking stoves, street lights and solar LED lamps work.

D.K.Dinesh Kumar, Project Engineer, Branch office, KREDL explained about the Renewable Energy progress in India and Karnataka.  

Later a Debate and Quiz competition was conducted for students. Certificate and Solar Lanterns were given to winners.  

Sri Srikanteswara ITI College Secretary H.N. Srikantaiah, Treasurer H.M. Shanthakumari, Principal N. Yashaswini, Rachana Energy Care Director Anil Kumar, Lecturers V. Sampath, H.R. Shasidhar, J. Chitra and N. Sunith were present.
