Awareness programme on manuscripts held

Mysuru: Oriental Research Institute (ORI), University of Mysore, in association with Government Ayurveda Medical College, had organised an awareness programme on the importance of manuscripts at ORI premises here yesterday.

Inaugurating the programme, retired Vice-Chancellor of Kuvempu University Prof. P. Venkataramaiah praised ORI for its effort to digitalise the manuscripts which would be of immense help for research works. He pointed out that sharing of knowledge was very less in India which should improve. He advised researchers to interact with each other to broaden the scope of knowledge.

Delivering the keynote address, ORI Director Dr. S. Shivarajappa said that ORI was 127-years-old with over 70,000 invaluable manuscripts and added that digitalisation of these manuscripts would be very useful.

Ayurveda Medical College Professor Dr. Shanthala Priyadarshini presided. Senior Professors Dr. Radhakrishna Rama Rao, Dr. Sanjay and others were present.
