Awareness rally marks ‘Anti-Dengue Month’

Mysuru: As part of the ‘Anti-Dengue Month,’ an awareness rally on Control of Dengue was organised by the office of the District Vector-Borne Diseases Control Officer in city on Saturday.

The rally, which was flagged off by Corporator Seema Shoukath at HHMBG Primary Health Centre on Chamundi Hill Road, passed through Kurubarahalli Circle, Milk Dairy Road and returned to the starting point.

ASHA workers, staff of Health Department and members of NGOs participated in the rally. 

They also visited houses in Jockey Quarters and checked for any cases of fever and inspected the surroundings.

Speaking on the occasion, District Vector-Borne Diseases Control Officer Dr. Chidambara said that dengue is spread by mosquitoes which should be controlled by maintaining a clean ambience without allowing any stagnation of water. 

District officers Dr. Umesh, Dr. Siraj Ahmed, Dr. L. Ravi, PHC Doctor Naveen and Medical Officer Dr. Soumya were present.
